Os pongo debajo el comentario de un vídeo de arte de Youtube, donde una señora, de 76 años explicaba que tenía «Covid largo» y como consecuencia de ello tiene el corazón destrozado por no poder pintar como siempre…. PERO…. que gracias a la limitación, aprendió a usar sus manos y a hacer arte de otra forma. Como consecuencia de ello ganó concursos con otras combinaciones de técnicas que le resultaron más fáciles como collage y también pintando abstracto. Además, la condición que tiene le obligó a soltar las rigideces en su técnica artistica y así redescubrir y profundizar en sus dones y talentos.
Oído cocina todos, que de esto aprendemos mucho…sobre nuestra rigidez, sobre nuestras expectativas,sobre la resilencia, sobre la capacidad de volver a empezar cuando la vida te pega una embestida que te deja tumbado-a.

I had long Covid. My mind was affected and I can no longer draw! After a lifetime of artwork, I am heart broken. I never know where to start something, and have ended up tracing things. You have just given me my art skills again!! LOVE YOU TO PIECES!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!

@ Thank you for your kind remarks. Because I am now 76, I’m at an age where I don’t want to start learning drawing all over again, so I switched what I was doing!! I’ve taken on some self taught abstract painting, and it turns out I’m really good at it!!! I’ve also been using a Jelli plate a lot and have been doing collage/mixed media, and won a spot in a prestigious art show with one of my pieces!! I have also learned how to ‘loosen up’ how I paint. I am now enjoying art more than I have ever before. I’m still upset about not being able to draw like I used to, but working around this has given me another layer of art I never knew I had. So, this is a good lesson in not giving up, but working around the disability and a brand new world may open up to you!! Thank you again for touching my heart!!
